Hoy nos vamos a familiarizar y conocer unos de los monumentos más famosos del mundo. Simplemente quiero que leas la información y recuerdes el vocabulario que aprendimos. ¡Y, listos para disfrutar de tanta belleza chic@s!

Here are the top ten most famous man-made monuments in the world.

Which of these are shown in the image?
Can you name the others too?

Let´s learn some characteristics about each one of them:

1. The Eiffel Tower in France

This metal tower stands in the city centre of Paris.

The 324 meters tower was constructed by Auguste Eiffel and a team of engineers in 1889.





2. The Great Wall of China
The great wall in one of  the seven wonders of the world.

3. The Kremlin in Russia



The Grand Kremlin Palace is located next to the Red Square in Russia´s capital city Moscow.
  


4. The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy




The original height of the tower was 60 meters, but as it is leaning, the lowest side is now less than 56 meters.
You can walk up the 251 stairs to the top of the tower which is quite an amazing experience.






5. The Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt


The Pyramids are made of stone and bricks and stand near Cairo which is the capital of Egypt.

Next to the Giza Pyramids is the Sphinx, the famous monument of a lion body with a pharaoh´s head.



6. The Sidney Opera House in Australia
The Sidney´s Opera House is famous for its roof´s architecture resembling sails. The roof is covered with more than 1 million roof tiles.


7. The Statue of Liberty in the USA



The Statue of Liberty is 92 meters high and is made of a iron structure with copper skin. The torch’s flame is covered with 24k gold and the crown has seven rays for the seven continents. 
The statue was built and completed in France in 1884.






8. The Taj Majal in India 
The Taj Mahal, which means "crown of palaces" in the Persian language. It has been built with white marble and the finest material from al over Asia. It is decorated with precious and semi-precious stones.
It is said that more than 20,000 workers built the monument and over 1,000 elephants were used to help with the transport of the heavy material during the construction. 
    
9. The Moai on Easter Island (Chile)
The Moai are huge statues on the Polynesian island called Easter Island which belongs to Chile. The Easter Island is more than 2,200 miles away from Chile in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Most of the stone figures with the oversized heads were built with tuff stone and compressed volcanic ash. 


10. Machu Pichu in Peru 
The city is a magical sight and a great example of Inca engineering, as the structures and buildings of the city were also built without using wheels!

Hoy vamos a repasar "El relieve" que estudiamos a lo largo del curso. Para ello vamos a ver este vídeo, pincha en la imagen y luego comprobaremos nuestros conocimiento con una serie de preguntas:





Espero que te haya gustado mucho y ahora toca contestar:
1. ¿Qué es el relieve?
2. Nombra los dos tipos de relieve.
3. ¿Qué formas de relieve puedes encontrar en el interior?
4. ¿Cómo es el relieve de la costa?
5. ¿Qué es un mapa físico? ¿Qué colores se utilizan?
6. Recuerda el nombre en inglés de los siguientes términos.

7. Repasa la página 66 del libro.

Ahora, vas a recordar el vocabulario en español. Pronuncia en inglés las siguientes palabras y relaciónalas con su significado en español:
